Lotus Menezes-Robson is a Tanzanian of Goan descent, born and bred in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. She has established herself in the city of Mississauga as a driven woman with talents in the arts. An avid salsa dancer and teacher, Lotus paints with the passion of the music she dances to, while engaging herself in the Law she practices as her profession. On her first exhibition in 2011 at Makutano in Dar es Salaam, her three paintings “Salsa in Dar”, “Zanzibar Monsoon” and “Coco Beach” acquired great interest, making them highly sought after commodities. She followed up with a second exhibition of seascape paintings in 2012.

Lotus obtained her Law degree from the University of Cape Town in South Africa and is a qualified Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania, having practiced law for over six years. On October 22, 2012 Lotus married her partner, Tom Robson. The following June, the newlyweds traveled the world for 18 months as part of their great adventure. They made it to 43 countries and 75 cities. Whilst traveling, Lotus started sketching and using watercolours, taking a break from the oil scapes she was known for in Dar es Salaam.

After traveling, Lotus and Tom moved to Santo Domingo, Domincan Republic. Three years in the Caribbean blessed them with two children and a host of new friends, and an invaluable opportunity to learn Spanish.

Currently, Lotus and her family live in Mississauga, Canada. Lotus continues to sketch and paint daily, embracing the joys and challenges of parenthood in a new setting.
